Meet Dr. Gathings
Dr. Gathings is a board-certified Dermatologist and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, along with the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Gathings received his B.S. from the University of Mississippi where he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Gathings continued his education at the University of Mississippi where he received his Medical Degree. Dr. Gathings completed his internship year at Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham, Alabama, and his Dermatology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
After completing residency, Dr. Gathings participated in a Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship. During this fellowship, Dr. Gathings received advanced training in the management of skin cancer with the Mohs micrographic surgery technique and facial reconstruction. Dr. Gathings treats Mohs surgical patients at our Knoxville Dermatology Group office in West Knoxville and our Dermatology Associates’ office at UT Medical Center.
When he is away from the office, Dr. Gathings enjoys spending time with his wife, traveling, sports, and being outdoors.
